Miami Dolphins Playoff Hopes Hurt

The loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday in Foxborough was tough in several regards. It’s never nice to lose a game in which you weren’t particularly outplayed, but furthermore the Miami Dolphins playoff hopes took a big hit with their fifth loss. The Miami Dolphins lead all 3-5 teams, hold a tiebreaker over the New York Jets who sit in front of them at 4-4 and have opportunities to take games from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, who figure to be fighting for Wild Card spots. However the Miami Dolphins still sit in 11th in the AFC, tied with the Buffalo Bills and a mere game ahead of the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans.

While the Miami Dolphins have played right with every team they have faced all season, the wins will have to start rolling in for the playoffs to be realistic this season. At this point the Dolphins basically can’t lose for the rest of the season, certainly no more than once. It will be a tough task for sure, as we knew it would be all season but the Miami Dolphins still do control their own destiny. Now we just have to see how it plays out on the field.
