Dolphins Quarterback Questions
There are many things that have to be answered during the Dolphins’ training camp that opens this weekend in Davie, Fla., and at this point no position is left without its question marks. But one position in particular is at the tops of most Fins fans’ minds – how will the quarterback situation pan out during the 2010 NFL season, and who will be awarded the back-up job to Chad Henne?
Before we get into the questions at hand, we first need to address another pressing issue – seeing the Dolphins live in person! If you are fortunate enough to live in South Florida or are planning on making a trip down to see your favorite NFL team, we have all kinds of ticket specials, such as VIP Dolphins tickets and even Dolphins tailgate packages to help you stay at the forefront on the team in Miami. And for those of you who will be heading to an NFL stadium near you to catch the Fins on the road, how about Miami Dolphins road trip ticket packages? Yes, we’ve got those too! We know you won’t want to miss one second of the action, and as the ultimate source of Miami Dolphins tickets, we won’t let you!
From burning ticket deals to burning questions, as we mentioned earlier, the question on most fans’ minds these days seems to be centered around the helm of the team – the QB. While the starting job isn’t in question, as Chad Henne is expected to anchor the offensive attack yet again, his back-up is about as clear as Florida on an overcast day. The Dolphins did re-sign Chad Pennington in the offseason, and it’s very clear who Henne goes to for advice and looks to as a mentor – but at this point, that might be all he remains to the younger Chad.
What is more likely to happen, however, is that Tyler Thigpen will step up in the second-string role. Thigpen started for Kansas City and has more experience than Pat White, who may have a problem finding a spot on the roster if Thigpen does indeed earn the back-up role, which will be determined throughout the exhibition season.
And while Henne is cemented at the helm of the team, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any pressing issues surrounding him, as followers of the Dolphins are anxious to see if his second year leading the team can lead to more overall success for the squad in 2010. He will have a stacked arsenal to play alongside this season, but his turnovers from 2009 (14) will surely have to drastically decrease if the Fins’ postseason dreams are to come to fruition.
***In other news, the Dolphins also added one more to their roster today, signing defensive tackle Montavious Stanley. Stanley has played for five NFL teams during his career and in 33 games, racking up 63 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Stanley played four years for the University of Louisville, where he finished his career ranked 12th in school history with 12.5 sacks and tied for ninth with 30 tackles for a loss.
