With Week 1 of the preseason concluded, what are some of the lingering questions surrounding the team during this week of training camp? First of all, the injury situation is always something to keep an eye on in the preseason, and that list was made even longer today when it was announced that right guard/tackle Nate Garner will miss at least two months after undergoing yet another surgery on the same foot that he had operated on in the offseason. Rookie guard John Jerry also sat out the end of the first practice Tuesday with knee problems and was joined on the sidelines by receiver Greg Camarillo, running back Tristan Davis and inside linebacker Channing Crowder, who missed his first action of training camp.

Speaking of Garner, the offensive line is also another key component to the team and is one that Head Coach Tony Sparano would like to have cleared up (aka have the starters named) by this weekend’s game against Jacksonville. There are still some battles going on, such as the center position between Joe Berger and Jake Grove, which is quite up in the air at the moment simply because neither of them are outplaying the other. The entire offensive line has been a question mark since day one of training camp, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out as play progresses.

Finally, the quarterback situation may still be one of the most intriguing positions on the team. Chad Henne clearly has the reigns, but who will primarily back him up? And what did it mean that Pat White only got three snaps in the preseason opener (two of which were knees by the way) compared to Tyler Thigpens’s 36? Does that mean White will see the majority of the action this Saturday? Is his short-lived career hanging on by a thread? As a wise man would say, only time – or in this case, more preseason games – will tell.
